Er lag bereits mit 1-3 hinten und riess das Ruder noch rum. Man kann vor der Leistung der polnischen Mannschaft nur den Hut ziehen.In der 20jährigen Snookergeschichte Polens ist das der größte Erfolg. Zweimal Silber ist bereits sicher.

It’s Finals Day at the 2011 European Snooker Team and Under 21 Championships and the big story here at the Dolmen Hotel is that Poland have shown that they are the rising force in European Snooker with a fantastic resilience in their Men’s team events, winning both the Quarter Final and the Semi Final on a deciding frame both times, coming through against Germany needing a remarkable four snookers on the colours and beating Scotland last night on the pink.
As well as the Men’s Final the sensation of the tournament in the Under 21 European Championship is the Polish player Kacper Filipiak. At just 16 years of age the young Polish player from Warsaw is having his International European Championships debut and has thrilled the crows with his incredibly high standard of safety, potting and his general shot selection.
Filipiak will play against Scotland’s Michael Leslie who has shown that he is quite a player himself, taking no prisoner’s en route to today’s final and showing fantastic form especially in his semi final victory over Duane Jones of Wales.
The men’s final will be very interesting indeed especially the different styles of play between Wales and Poland.
Wales all look like very dangerous break builders given an opening and Poland play a more methodical style of snooker, taking time over every shot before working out whether to pot or play a safety and Poland are superb safety players.
This is three Finals in a row for Wales, who reek of experience and confidence and considering their standard of play in the semi final victory over the Malta team they have to be the favourite’s today,
The Masters will also have the home crowd on the edges of their seats as Malta play England. Malta have been absolutely perfect throughout the Championships and infact beat England 5- 0 in their group game, but England have shown that they can comeback from that defeat to slowly go about their business and have been impressive in their last three matches.
Finally the Ladies final features the best two sides here this week Germany and Russia, Germany in particular have looked unbeatable and should win this one, but in Final’s you never know.
